NYATEP's 2024 Federal Workforce Town Hall Wrap Up

Thank you so much to all who attended NYATEP’s Federal Workforce Advocates Town Hall.  We especially appreciate the participation of Congressman Joseph Morelle and Congressman Andrew Garbarino. Both conversations were exceptional and we took away some valuable information. 

Highlights include:

• Reassurance that YOUR advocacy matters and Representatives listen!
• Understanding that attaining a “good job” involves having access to safe and affordable childcare, access to transportation, and stable housing.
• Despite it being chaotic in Washington D.C, the New York delegation remains united and supportive of workforce development across New York State. Both representatives were hopeful for the next few months and to have a final and balanced budget. 
• Both representatives mentioned the importance of WIOA reauthorization and acknowledged NYATEP’s opinions, comments, and concerns.
• Advocate to your representatives, invite them to events, and add them to your communications, the representatives want to be involved.
