SIGN ON SUPPORT NEEDED for Income Disregard Bill S6589/A7534

After a successful day hitting the hill in Albany -- we are making a final push for the next TWO DAYS to demonstrate the overwhelming support from across New York State from the business community and workforce sector for S6589 (Persaud)/A7534 (Rosenthal) which would establish a 6 month, 100% income disregard for New Yorkers receiving cash assistance and participating in job training, postsecondary education programs and unsubsidized and subsidized employment programs. We do not want public policy to be a barrier for New Yorkers achieving family sustaining wages.

 

We are asking that this legislation be amended to include assistance related to childcare, food, and housing, and pertain to any government funded job training, education or employment program.

 

We have attached a joint sign on letter for your review -- and hope that your organization will sign on by Friday.  After we have collected all the names and organizations we will send ONE giant letter to leadership by Friday, March 4th at 5:00PM.
