NYATEP'S Statement on the 2024-2025 NYS Enacted Budget

“NYATEP would like to thank Senator Roxanne Persuad, Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, Assemblymember Davila, and Speaker Carl Heastie for their steadfast support and dedication to the people of New York. 

While we are disappointed that our priorities were not included in this budget, we are grateful to the Legislature for their continued support and commitment with our effort to make New York state’s workforce more equitable. We remain fully committed to funding a fiscal cliff taskforce and for allowing all New Yorkers to be able to take the opportunity of an income disregard while perusing a new opportunity. 

We look forward to hearing Governor Hochul’s Administration’s reasoning behind the refusal to offer ALL New Yorkers an opportunity for a career pathway that provides dignity and security in the workforce and ending the cycle of poverty”.
