NYATEP at the 2024 NYSDOL Registered Apprenticeship Event

On Thursday, November 14th, NYATEP had the privilege of attending the 2024 New York State Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship event. The event brought together business leaders, workforce advocates, and policymakers to highlight the transformative power of apprenticeship programs in building skilled talent across New York State.

NYSDOL Commissioner Roberta Reardon shared exciting updates, including forthcoming regulations for registered apprenticeships, which will soon be available for public comment. She also announced plans for NYSDOL to launch a blog in the coming months—a new platform to share insights and updates on workforce initiatives.

A recurring theme of the event was that registered apprenticeship opens doors. Attendees heard from inspiring business leaders who have implemented successful apprenticeship programs, underscoring the value of these pathways in strengthening businesses and empowering individuals with the skills they need to thrive.
