 Featuring Key Note Speaker:  Al Duncan

As America's Leading Youth Empowerment Advocate and a thought leader in the field of self-development, Al is an expert blogger for The Black Collegian Magazine. His blog, Elevate U™, is read weekly by students across the globe. He is the Executive Publisher of Nile Valley Press and president of Al Duncan Enterprises. Al, a successful entrepreneur, is the author of two books and co-creator of Get ALL Fired Up!™ -- a powerful personal and professional development book series. 

 Featuring Speaker:  Edward DeJesus

Edward DeJesus is YDRF’s President and Founder. With more than 20 years of experience in youth workforce and development programs, Ed has become one of the most sought after experts on issues affecting at-risk youth. With a great mix of policy and practice, Ed leads the YDRF team in improving programs and policies for youth and young adults.

 

 

 Featuring Speaker:  Jeanette James

Jeanette James is a Career Development Consultant specializing in Curriculum Implementation. While the District Chairperson for Business and Career Development for Sachem Central Schools in New York State, she created and implemented a technology-based career plan program K-12 and taught online professional development courses to help implement this comprehensive district-wide program.

 Jeanette James is the co-author of two books: "CDOS and the Career Plan" and "Career Plan: Roadmap to Post High School Readiness." As a Career Development Consultant for Nassau BOCES, she has guided many New York school districts in the implementation of the CDOS Standards (Career Development and Occupational Studies Standards) .

You are responsible for making your own room reservations and paying lodging expenses. The room rate at the Desmond Hotel is $111 single/double. Call 518-869-8100 and state ID #11K9QBto make reservations. To receive this special group rate, please identify you are with the NYATEP Conference. Reservations must be made by 2/08/10

Group rates are available please call NYATEP at 433-1200 for details.

Academy Rate includes registration fee, materials, continental breakfast and lunch (3/2 & 3/3), and breaks. There is a $100 Cancellation Fee for cancellations after 02/15/10. You must call the NYATEP office to cancel prior to 02/15/10 to avoid this fee. No-Shows must pay the Full Registration Fee.

In an effort to Think Green and conserve on the amount of paper being used, NYATEP will not be printing and distributing workshop materials to attendees in a book format for the 2010 Youth Academy.  NYATEP will make workshop materials available that have been submitted by the speakers prior to the event to attendees online for downloading and provide each attendee with copies of the materials on a cd at the event. We encourage you to print only the materials for the workshops you will be attending at the Academy and bring them with you. The materials will remain available online after the event.
