The Workforce New York 2010 Fall Conference Welcomes Keynote Speaker
Kati Haycock, President The Education Trust
Closing the Achievement Gap: Can we Do It? What Will It Take?
New York cannot build a world class workforce without doing two things: (1) Improving K- 16 performance; and (2) Upskilling the adults already in the workforce.
Since its establishment in 1991, The Education Trust has worked to improve the academic success of America’s young people especially low-income students and students of color from kindergarten through college. Ms. Haycock will share national and state achievement data, describing patterns for different groups of students. She'll discuss some of the factors that contribute to significant gaps separating poor students and students of color from other young Americans, but concentrate mostly on sharing the lessons from schools and districts that have been successful in raising achievement for all students.

So we have established a special rate for WIB Members; School Superintendents; School Board Members; Principals; and Educators who only want to attend this plenary session- only price of $30.
