Clasp Reports Call for Targeted Job Creation Efforts and Adult Ed Reform

Two recent reports from Clasp focus on key WIA reauthorization issues.

In Adult Education: Recommendations to Refocus WIA Title II on Career and Postsecondary Success, http://www.clasp.org/admin/site/publications/files/WIA-Title-II-Recs_Career-and-PostSecondary-Success-FINAL_Updated.pdf the authors make a case for revising Title II to focus on career and postsecondary success, and revising performance measures to reflect the new priorities of the program.

Job Creation: Creating Work and Learning Opportunities for Low-Income Populations  http://www.clasp.org/admin/site/publications/files/Job-Creation-Fact-Sheet_Final-for-Webrevised.pdf calls for providing additional resources and flexibility under WIA to create jobs for low-skill unemployed youth, adults and dislocated workers.
