Talent Pipelines for Prosperity:
Where Will Businesses Find the Workers of Today and Tomorrow?
How WIBs and the One-Stop System Can Make the Difference!

Presented by Greg Newton, Greg Newton Associates

Industry leaders must have a strategy for attracting, retaining, and expanding the available talent pool and the workforce system must find a way to help.

This session will show how to develop an industry-specific talent pipeline map with a comprehensive talent strategy. Strategies discussed will include: “priming the downstream pipeline” by promoting career opportunities to youth and attaching them to the local labor force early; expanding the available talent pool by reaching and preparing those not currently participating in the labor force; retaining talent, including the aging workforce.

The specific roles and opportunities of the WIBs and One-Stop System to achieve both horizontal and vertical alignment with demand will be explored. You will leave with ideas for transforming your current programs into true talent pipelines.

Who Should Attend?
This session is intended for WIB Members and Staff, One-Stop Leaders and Senior Staff, One-Stop Partner Agencies, Training and Education Service Providers, and others engaged in addressing the skill development needs of One-Stop system customers.
