Join your colleagues from workforce development communities throughout New York State and beyond to discuss issues and gain perspectives on how to position workforce in the global economy – the theme of the 2008 Spring Conference. The current economic crisis has created an unprecedented demand for workforce development organizations to offer critically needed services to their constituencies who are facing daunting challenges in many facets of their lives and careers. This conference will provide ample opportunities to learn about the latest actions being taken at the national and state levels; gain information about successful model programs and promising practices; hear about local and regional initiatives to improve workforce competitiveness; develop strategies to continue delivering needed services despite reductions in funding; network with colleagues from across the state; and much more.
