About the Conference
In these times of transition, leading change presents challenges at all levels of the workforce development system. Breaking down traditional program and funding silos and barriers to working together also creates opportunities to build a public workforce development system that responds to the needs of job seekers, workers in transition, and businesses. More than ever, it has become imperative that workforce boards, training and service providers, community organizations, and workforce system stakeholders seek new ways to maximize resources and look to the future while meeting the current needs of jobseekers and businesses. We must strengthen alliances among workforce development, economic development, education, and key community partners to provide leadership in adapting to the innovation economy.
Leading Change in the Innovation Economy will examine how workforce boards, one-stop partners, educators, training and service providers, business leaders, and community organizations can lead the way in developing and enhancing strategies for effective workforce development services. Bring your local team to the Workforce New York Spring Conference to share new ideas, new learning and networking opportunities!
The Spring Workforce New York Conference will zero in on issues and topics to help you retool your services to address the demands of the innovation economy and position your organization to be a crucial community resource in shaping the future workforce. This timely conference will focus on practical steps you can take today to maximize resources and services, gain community support for your efforts and become better able to adapt to the emerging demands of our changing economy.
Leading Change in the Innovation Economy will kick-off with a keynote address from Dr. Willard Daggett from the International Center for Leadership in Education on The Education Challenge – Preparing for the Innovation Economy. Dr. Daggett, an internationally renowned leader in education innovation, will highlight global trends that are challenging educators and policymakers and will focus on the skills and knowledge that are needed to succeed in our changing world.
